INTERVENTION SERVICES
Title I (Also know as Academic Intervention Services & Response to Intervention)
Title I services are services available to all students based on the districts AIS and RTI plans. School Districts are required to provide the above mentioned services for students who meet eligibility requirements under the district plan. Under the current AIS plan student eligibility is determined by assessments (unit/benchmark), classroom overall performance, teacher recommendations, NWEA-Math and Reading assessments, 3rd-8th grade New York State Assessments and Regents Exams. The RtI plan makes services available to students via the recommendations of the School Based Intervention Team (S-BIT) in their building. An opportunity for students to receive general education supports under Title I is required prior to a referral to the CSE. Title I services overlap in many respects. In both cases data on individual students and their progress with best practice intervention is closely monitored and reviewed.
